International Collaborations
KNMA collaborates with arts organizations, institutions, galleries, foundations, and museums across the world through exhibitions, symposiums, programmes, and different outreach activities. Through these collaborations we seek to open new possibilities for art historical debates and discussions in the globalized world with a focus on south Asian art.
Recognizing that the modern and contemporary art from South Asia cannot be reduced to a linear and homogenous narrative, the international exhibition programme of KNMA addresses its diverse forms and acknowledges the difference within the region’s art practice, and highlights many parallel trajectories, and modernist assertions. In the last few years, KNMA has brought forth many such underrepresented practices of artists such as Nasreen Mohamedi and Bhupen Khakhar to international visibility, and contributed immensely to new research and study.
