It is the fifth commissioned project under ‘Inhabiting the Museum’ series curated by Akansha Rastogi. ‘Vacuum Suction’ is virtual project that ran for three months from April to June, on KNMA’s Facebook page. Artist Prayas Abhinav’s fictional museum called ‘Museum of Vestigial Desires’ was invited as institution-in-residence on KNMA’s Facebook page. To mark its virtual presence as a resident institution, it operated through its outreach arm (program) called ‘Vacuum Suction’. The artist/institution, in residence, posted as KNMA, generating suspicion, rupture and creating dialogues, sharing exercises to be performed and submitted online by the performers. The fake persona of Hoja Asli also held conversations with participating artists of the current exhibition ‘Constructs|Constructions’ at KNMA. In this process, Prayas Abhinav was supposed to write the book ‘The Semantics of a Curse’, that will be released at the end of the project.
