A RIVER CARRIES ITS PAST: Vivan Sundaram, Panel discussion with Nancy Adajania, Gayatri Sinha and Roobina Karode
17 May 2018
Speaker: Nancy Adajania, Gayatri Sinha and Roobina Karode
This panel discussion with three critic- curators and cultural theorists is organized as a collateral event of Vivan Sundaram’s retrospective exhibition ‘Step inside and you are no longer a stranger’. It marks the closing of the Part 1 of the exhibition that covers fifty years of Sundaram’s art practice. Roobina Karode will speak about the curatorial challenges of conceptualizing and installing the exhibition, while Gayatri Sinha focuses on her readings of Sundaram’s largest site-specific work ‘Structures of Memory’ in the Victoria Memorial, Kolkata. Nancy Adjania responds poetically to the soundscape of the exhibition that traces landmark moments, seminal works, shifts and changes that came about in his long artistic career.
