Friends of Bombay Progressives: A panel discussion by collectors and patrons
22 September 2017
Well known art patrons, critics and connoisseurs of art: Dadiba Pundole, Darashaw Keki Mehta, Roshan Shahani, Ashok Vajpeyi, Arun Vadehra, Amal Allana and Kiran Nadar came together for this memorable evening of sharing of personal stories, anecdotes and interactions with the artists of Bombay Progressives and their times. This evening was organized as a collateral event of the exhibition ‘Stretched Terrains: A String of Exhibitions’ which showcases seminal works from 1950s to 1990s as solo exhibitions of artists M.F. Husain, S.H. Raza and F.N. Souza. An important and rare section of the display include the letter exchanges between the six artist-members of PAG: Souza, Raza, Husain, Gade, Bakre and Ara, generously loaned by the Raza Foundation.
