Talk by Tushar Joag
3 December 2015
The final installment of the Talk Series centred around the exhibition, Constructs| Constructions presented an insight in the art of Tushar Joag. Tushar, offered a rare angle to his practice by tracing for the audience, the larger thematics of his work, and touching upon his collaborative initiatives along with artists like Sharmial Samant, Archanda Hande, and Shilpa Gupta such as Open Circle. Tushar’s work is intensely parodic and political. With regard to this, the most striking aspects of the lecture were his description of the role of art in public spaces and the detailed insight he provided into a large body of his works. The lecture was followed by a conversation between him and Anita Dube.
